the signing of a tax information exchange agreement (TIEA). The TIEA
supports Canada’s fight against international tax evasion and will
enable tax authorities in the two countries to exchange information
relevant to the administration and enforcement of their respective
domestic tax laws.
Today’s meeting in Ottawa comes after Minister Baird’s official visit
to the Gulf region kingdom, in April, and signals a bilateral
relationship that is on an upward trajectory. Bahraini delegates
confirmed that the state-owned airline, Gulf Air, will take delivery of
10 Bombardier jets, produced in Montréal, as part of the airline’s
