Celebrations for Consumption?!
Jawad Anani - In the US, some $19 billions are spent annually on plastic surgery, more than $36 billions on diet food, and over $10 billions on cold and headache drugs, so what remains to help countries like Malawi, whose GDP does not exceed $1 billion? Consumption has many negative aspects. We can observe the sufferings of the Arab family from the pressures on their limited income at a time when demand for consumption is on the rise and the size of families is still considerable.
