CIA Funds Hizbullah Rivals

Viewed by most Lebanese as a resistance force, Hizbullah played an instrumental role in forcing Israel to end its 22-year occupation of south Lebanon.CAIRO — As part of a covert action against the Lebanese resistance group, the Bush administration has authorized the CIA to provide financial and logistic support to anti-Hizbullah groups and supporters of the west-backed Seniora government.
"Seniora's under siege there and we are always looking for ways to help allies," a former US government official told the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday, January 10.
The plan authorizes the CIA and other US intelligence agencies to fund anti-Hizbullah groups in Lebanon and pay for groups supportive of the Seniora government.
